DEPRIVED OF - “AFTERGLOW”
Alt-metal emotion, nu-metal chaos, and riffs to boot your teeth in – welcome to your new obsession.
Toowoomba’s filthy sons Deprived Of are finally unleashing their long-awaited debut album AFTERGLOW, dropping August 8, 2025, and it’s a genre-smashing, emotionally violent beast that deserves your full, undivided bloody attention. But before the full carnage hits, you’ll cop a taste this Friday with the release of “Iris”, a slow burning, gut twisting anthem that sets the tone for everything to come.
Formed back in 2022, and forged through lineup changes, dodgy name trials, and a whole lot of musical chaos, Deprived Of have finally locked in their identity, a four piece alt metal wrecking crew built to make you feel everything all at once. Led by the raw vocal madness of Jarred “Tatey” Tate, backed by Conor Gloom’s atmospheric-meets-armageddon guitar work, Caleb McCallum’s thick-as-shit basslines, and Zane Ambrose’s surgical drumming — this band ain’t here to play nice.

Their sound swings between dreamy Deftones vibes and crushing modern metalcore breakdowns. One second you’re floating through a haze of reverb, the next you’re getting punched in the chest by a riff that sounds like it escaped a demolition site.
Tracklist for AFTERGLOW:
1. (don’t delete)
2. Life of the Party
4. Iris
5. Initiation
6. Thursday Night
7. Bored Not Sad
8. Riding My Fluorescent Bike Through the Park, or So I Thought
9. Gaze into the Sunlight
Early highlights? “Life of the Party” is an absolute chaos anthem, “Thursday Night” feels like chain-smoking anxiety at 2am, and “Riding My Fluorescent Bike…” is equal parts beautiful and batshit. And “Iris”? It’s a fuckin’ mood — tender, explosive, and probably illegal in some states.
With AFTERGLOW, Deprived Of don’t just dip their toes in the heavy music pool — they cannonball straight into it with a half-eaten ciggie and a whole lot of emotional damage. If this album doesn’t hit you right in the soul (and the jaw), you might already be dead.

Mark it — “Iris” drops Friday. AFTERGLOW lands August 8. Don’t miss it, or we’ll send Tatey round to scream in your mailbox.
Catch Deprived Of at the fkn AFTERGLOW launch show on Saturday 9th August w/ Linora Drive & Pleasantly Confused @ Mouse Proof Bootleg Brews.
