Righto, strap the fuck in - Melbourne’s own blackened nu-metal psychos, Mélancolia, are back to ruin your peace and melt your fuckin’ ears off. They’ve just dropped a filthy new single called “ALL_IS_RUST”, and holy shit, it slaps harder than your mate’s dad after a lost footy bet.

This unholy racket is the first taste of their upcoming second album, random.access.misery, out Friday, August 29, via Nuclear Blast and Greyscale Records. And yeah, the name sounds like a Windows 98 error message after you downloaded dodgy porn on Limewire, but don’t let that fool you. This is some next-level sonic carnage.

The track itself? Fuck me dead, it’s a full-blown assault. Think metalcore shagging deathcore while industrial noise records it in the corner and DJ scratches scream for help. There’s even blast beats and some nu-metal chuggin’ that’ll make you wanna punch a hole in your bathroom wall. Vocalist Alex Hill reckons this is the most “Mélancolia” they’ve ever sounded - which is a poetic way of saying it’s bleak as fuck and absolutely cooked.

They’re not here to follow trends, mate. They’re here to burn the whole genre down, piss on the ashes, and build a haunted nightclub on top. They’re calling it “Blackened Nu Metal,” and honestly? It’s the kind of evil shit that’ll make your nan cry and your ex text you at 3am checking you are alright.

These maniacs have already torn up Aussie stages, shredded through Europe twice, and now they’re jumping on tour with Thy Art Is Murder this June and July. Expect carnage. Expect tinnitus. Expect to cry in the mosh pit and thank ‘em for it.
