Fit For A King – “Begin The Sacrifice”
Fit For A King are back, and they’re fkn furious. Their latest single “Begin The Sacrifice” is a heavy hitting existential uppercut for anyone who’s looked at the state of the world and thought, “Yeah nah, I’ve had a gutful.”
Right off the bat, this thing comes out swinging. Guitars chug like a V8 on meth, drums hit like a pub brawl on footy night, and Ryan Kirby’s vocals are the audio equivalent of shouting into a thunderstorm while everything around you burns. Lyrically, it’s a big ol’ middle finger to the modern chaos - the non stop arguments, the never ending noise, and the mental fatigue that comes from trying to care about everything all the time. It’s not preachy, it’s just fkn real.
Kirby reckons it’s about a person ready to sacrifice themselves for a greater cause, but being pulled in a million directions at once. And look, who hasn’t felt like that lately? Between the TikTok conspiracy nutters, political dickheads, and your uncle’s Facebook rants - it’s a miracle any of us believe in anything anymore.
The production is tight, and the chorus hits like it’s been engineered in a lab specifically to be screamed in a sweaty mosh pit at 1am. It’s got that signature FFAK mix of chaos and clarity - melodic as hell one second, skull cracking the next.
