Galundo Tenvulance — Insomnis Somnia

Out now via SPIRITUAL BEAST

Japan’s Galundo Tenvulance have fucking outdone themselves with Insomnis Somnia, a 13 track juggernaut that takes symphonic/melodic death metal, smashes it with modern brutality, and spits it back in your face dripping with elegance and rage. Polished to a razor’s edge by Saku Moilanen (BEFORE THE DAWN, WOLFHEART), this record doesn’t just hit hard, it blows your whole mind to pieces.

From the opening of Sleepless Dreams, the band sets a tone that’s cinematic ahead of the savagery. The orchestral layering swells like a movie score, almost floating away before you get dragged into the pit of the remaining 12 tacks. Tracks like Abuse of Hatred and Sweet Suffering balance blistering riffs with soaring melodies, while Till Death Reaches You leans into raw, vein bursting aggression that’ll make you want to punch through drywall.

What makes Insomnis Somnia stand alone is its ability to sound absolutely massive. The symphonics aren’t just window dressing, they feel woven into the DNA of every track, lifting the brutality to something fucking transcendent. The centerpiece The Soul To Be Punished Dwells Within Me, is as epic as its title suggests, brutal, theatrical, and absolutely crushing. By the time Epicedium rolls around, you’re left battered but begging for another spin.

This is Galundo Tenvulance’s boldest, sharpest statement yet, a record that proves Japanese metal isn’t just competing on the global stage, it’s kicking the living shit out of it.

🔥 Symphonic death metal perfection with claws

8.5/10
