Seek Misery have unleashed a savage statement with their new single “Ground War”, a crushing collaboration with Jesse Burr from Hate Complex that shows Adelaide’s heaviest aren’t here to play fkn nice. This track is a full frontal assault, loaded with venom, and built for chaos in the pit.
From the opening seconds, “Ground War” wastes no time establishing its intent. Blistering riffs, guttural vocals, and breakdowns that hit with the subtlety of a brick through a windscreen. The band’s trademark nu-metalcore/deathcore hybrid has never sounded more focused, with each section engineered to flatten anyone foolish enough to stand still. Jesse’s guest spot adds another layer of venom, his snarling delivery carving through the mix with a ferocity that matches Seek Misery’s own firepower.

Production comes courtesy of Simone Pietroforte, who gives the track both clarity and weight. Every down tuned riff feels like it’s tearing concrete apart, while the drums, bolstered by additional work from Sean Sparaco, land like artillery fire. It’s a meticulous balance of polish and grit, the kind of mix that ensures the sheer brutality doesn’t lose its edge.
Lyrically, “Ground War” is unapologetically hostile. It confronts hypocrisy, cowardice, and betrayal with raw honesty, spitting contempt in a way that resonates far beyond the heavy music scene. This isn’t just anger for anger’s sake, it’s pointed, deliberate, and cutting to the bone.

“Ground War” is Seek Misery at their most ruthless. It’s a track designed to level stages, incite mayhem, and remind the heavy music world that Adelaide’s scene is not just alive but thriving. If this is a taste of what’s coming on Everyone You Love Will Leave (out November 14), then fans should brace themselves, because the real war hasn’t even started yet 🤘🏾
Seek Misery are set to headline Southern Death Fest II Pre-DLC at Adelaide Uni Bar on Sept 12. Expect breakdowns, chaos, and a pit that’ll hit harder than a pub brawl at closing time. Get tix here.
