Strap in, c**ts - this one’s darker than your ex’s soul.
Brissie’s own DIESECT are back with their third EP, and Hide From The Light is a fkn emotional mugging. Out May 30, it’s a concept record that grabs you by the guts and drags you through the slow descent of giving up on healing and just letting the darkness do its thing. Uplifting? Not a chance. Brutal? You bet your sad little heart it is.
Six tracks. No filler. Just pure, suffocating hardcore that punches you in the feels and then kicks you while you’re down. From the creeping dread of the title track to the soul-flattening closer Suffer In The Dark, this thing doesn’t let up - and doesn’t want to.
Standouts? Too Many Scars is a full-blown mental breakdown set to music. Shura is chaos and melody doing lines off the same table. And There Was Never Light - well, that one’s just emotional sandpaper straight to the face.
Vocals are cooked in all the right ways, the riffs are fkn filthy, and the whole thing is tighter than a bogan in skinny jeans at a Parkway show.
Greyscale didn’t just sign a band - they unleashed a monster.
Hide From The Light doesn’t slap. It fkn mauls. Drops May 30. Mark it, stream it, cry in the dark to it.
