BOOF HEADS – “LOW BROW”
(Jethro Records, 2025)
Crude. Loud. Irresistibly cooked.
Brisbane’s loveable gronks BOOF HEADS have dropped their debut album “LOW BROW” — and holy shit, it’s everything the name promises. This thing isn’t just rough around the edges; it is the fkn edge. Five tracks, 19 minutes, and not a single fuck given. It’s raw, it’s rude, and it’s ready to make your ears bleed.

Kicking off with “REAL ROCK’N’ROLLA”, the album sets the tone early – blistering riffs, pub fight energy, and a vocal delivery that sounds like a half cooked tradie yelling at a seagull. The production is grimey, the basslines are fat as your mate Dazza after a Bunnings sausage binge, and the drums hit like a brick through a windscreen.

“BUMRUSH” follows with some feral punk energy, while “LOCK STOCK” flips the switch into a filthy groove that would make a nun throw hands. “OOSH LAD” is full-blown bogan anthem – equal parts chaos and charisma, and the closer “SCUMBAG” is pure Aussie core glory—loud, lippy and completely off its head.

But LOW BROW isn’t just noisy for the sake of it — there’s a sneaky musicality buried in the sludge. You’ve got tight ass transitions, cleverly layered chaos, and lyrics that are equal parts piss take and painfully on point. It’s the soundtrack to a busted Friday night that turns into a blurry Sunday morning.
To celebrate the album’s release, BOOF HEADS are hitting the road on “LOW BROW: The Tour”, bringing their genre-defying filthfest to venues across the east coast. Vinnies Dive, Gold Coast on Friday July 25, with local misfits The Captive East and Johnny and The C-Sections on support. Then they hit Greaser, Fortitude Valley (July 26) for an 8-band blowout, and Howl & Moan, Byron Bay (Aug 1) for a BYO chaos session.

If LOW BROW proves anything, it’s that BOOF HEADS aren’t here to play it safe. They’re here to fuck shit up—sonically, spiritually, and possibly legally. This one’s already in the running for the dirtiest debut of the year. Don’t miss it.
Can’t make it on the 25th?
