Aussie metal veterans Temtris return with Queen of Crows, their eighth full-length album and perhaps their most refined and emotionally resonant work to date. Highlights include the ominous stomp of “Scars of Betrayal”, the moody, ever-burning “Narcosis”, and the epic centrepiece “Murder of Crows” — a track that feels like the spiritual heart of the record, dripping in an atmosphere where everything is in its place and loaded with cinematic flair. “Carnival of Tears” delivers a haunting melody wrapped in crushing dynamics, while closing track “The World is Bleeding Out” ends things on a note of apocalyptic grandeur, a bold, emotional finale that lingers long after the final note fades.
