Temtris – Queen of Crows
(Wormholedeath Records – August 8, 2025)
Aussie metal veterans Temtris return with Queen of Crows, their eighth full-length album and perhaps their most refined and emotionally resonant work to date. Set for release via Wormholedeath Records on August 8, 2025, Queen of Crows is a towering achievement in modern power metal, laced with traditional influences, ferocious energy, and a dark theatrical edge that sets Temtris apart from the pack.
From the opening blast of “Evil Lies”, it’s clear this album isn’t here to piss about. The band’s trademark mix of soaring vocals, crushing riffs, and thunderous rhythm work is on full display — polished yet aggressive, tight yet bursting with raw emotion. Frontwoman Genevieve Rodda continues to be one of Australia’s most formidable voices in metal. Her range, power, and ability to convey both fury and fragility is nothing short of world class.
Guitarist Anthony Fox delivers riff after riff with razor sharp precision, while his solos cut through the mix like a scalpel, technically impressive without ever losing soul. The rhythm section, featuring bassist Vane Danov and drummer Nicholas Bolin, provides relentless drive throughout. Their chemistry is undeniable, anchoring each track with groove, grit, and absolute power.
Highlights include the ominous stomp of “Scars of Betrayal”, the moody, ever-burning “Narcosis”, and the epic centrepiece “Murder of Crows” — a track that feels like the spiritual heart of the record, dripping in an atmosphere where everything is in its place and loaded with cinematic flair. “Carnival of Tears” delivers a haunting melody wrapped in crushing dynamics, while closing track “The World is Bleeding Out” ends things on a note of apocalyptic grandeur, a bold, emotional finale that lingers long after the final note fades.

Heavy music in 2025 needs bands like Temtris, uncompromising, passionate, and utterly dedicated to their craft. Queen of Crows is more than just another album. It’s a statement, a journey, and a damn near essential listen for anyone who calls themselves a metal fan.
Crank it loud and let it rip.
