Justice For The Damned – “Stay Relentless”
(Greyscale Records / Out now)
Justice For The Damned are back, and they’ve dropped a fuck off heavy new single that hits like a cricket bat to the throat. “Stay Relentless” is the title track from their upcoming album (out August 15), and if you weren’t ready to punch holes in plasterboard before, you will be now.
Written during some rough as guts personal shit, the song’s a full-tilt war cry about refusing to give in - even when life’s stomping on your bollocks with steel capped boots. The boys say it’s a reminder that you can cop anything the universe dishes out if your head’s in the right place. Sounds wholesome, right? Well, strap in, because musically, it’s a fanging chainsaw wrapped in barbed wire.
Bobak sounds like he gargled razors before stepping in the booth, the guitars riff harder than a Bunnings sausage line on a long weekend, and the breakdowns are so heavy they’ll crack your nan’s dentures from three suburbs away. It’s relentless (great pun use), it’s mean, and it doesn’t waste a second pissing about.
The lads have been slogging it out on tour for nearly a decade, and you can hear that mileage in every blood soaked note. They’ve played with the best, and now they’re dragging their Western Sydney roots back to the mosh pit forefront - no reinvention, just heavier, tighter, and more pissed off.
They’re touring with Make Them Suffer this month, so catch ’em live and get your soul flattened in person.
Final word? “Stay Relentless” is a big, angry middle finger to giving up. Crank it loud, kick a bin, and remember, feelings are for cowards - unless you scream them over blast beats.
