Sweden’s Eleine have never been shy about aiming for the jugular, and with We Stand United they’ve delivered an EP that doubles as both a rallying cry and a bold affirmation of everything that makes them one of the most exciting bands in dark melodic metal today. The short but striking opener Towards the Fields sets the tone perfectly — an atmospheric swell of cinematic weight that feels like the calm before battle. Then the title track drops, and it’s an absolute stormer. We Stand United is everything Eleine do best in one concentrated blast, razor sharp riffing, orchestral grandeur, and Madeleine Liljestam’s powerhouse vocals leading the charge like a general ready to tear down empires. It’s commanding, uplifting, and downright addictive, the kind of anthem destined to shake festival stages and stick in your head for weeks.

The live cuts (Never Forget and We Are Legion, both from Masters of Rock 2024) capture Eleine’s true essence, raw, ferocious, and utterly in command of a crowd. Sure, the sound isn’t studio polished, but that’s the fkn point. You can practically feel the sweat dripping, the boots stomping, and the unity between band and fans. These tracks don’t just showcase songs, they showcase a movement.

Closing with the symphonic version of Promise of Apocalypse, Eleine prove they can strip back the metal crunch without losing impact. Swelling strings and soaring vocals turn the track into something almost cinematic, bleak yet empowering, grand yet intimate.
